I am a former British army officer who served multiple tours in Helmand, Afghanistan. My job was to talk to all sides in the conflict and help find ways of achieving our goals without fighting.
Subsequently, I also worked in other conflict zones helping to understand and resolve them.
I’ve also had other leadership roles, including as a senior executive in a global charity working to bring different people and organisations together to solve problems.
I am a Senior Fellow at King’s College London – an expert in geopolitics and conflict – and the author of several books on psychology, conflict and travel. I regularly speak, write and appear in the media on these topics.
My background has taught me a lot about how to understand and work with different perspectives, how to bring people together to solve problems and how to get difficult things done.
This starts right here in Tunbridge Wells, where my family and I live.
